More Reflective Questions to ask when making decisions
Are you honoring God when you smoke or consume edibles? (1 Cor. 10:31)
Does talking about this—or the possibility it’s wrong—make you angry or defensive? (Jas. 1:19–20)
If you profit from cannabis, are you enabling someone else’s idol worship or leading them astray? (Rom. 14:13; Matt. 18:6)
Is this demotivating you from the things of God? (Heb. 12:1–2)
Are you depending on this more than on God? (Ps. 121:1–2)
Are you honoring God long term with this choice? (1 Cor. 6:20)
Are you choosing a momentary perk at the expense of long-term spiritual/physical consequences? (Gal. 6:7–8)
Are you harming others through secondhand exposure—especially children? (Mark 9:42)
Are your actions leading people to Christ or away from Him? (Rom. 14:21)
When you do this, are you reflecting Jesus to those around you? (2 Cor. 5:20)
Is this cultivating the fruit of the Spirit—especially self-control—or working against it? (Gal. 5:22–23)
Does this glorify God with your body, His temple? (1 Cor. 6:19–20)
Has this mastered you? (1 Cor. 6:12)
Would you be unashamed if Jesus returned while you were doing this? (1 Jn. 2:28)
Does this renew your mind or cloud it? (Rom. 12:2)
Are you walking in wisdom, or stepping toward harm? (Prov. 14:16)
Does this build your witness, or damage it? (Matt. 5:16)
Does this help you love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength? (Mark 12:30)
Does this help you love your neighbor as yourself—or put them at risk? (Mark 12:31)
Will this matter in eternity? (2 Cor. 5:10)
Are you adding future burdens onto others by risking paranoia, mental illness, or long-term disease—who will have to care for you, and what harm might be done to them? (Phil. 2:4)
